Announcement of the untimely passing of Titos Papamastorakis

 

Call for papers 34th volume of the D. CH. A. E. (2013)

 

As you already know, the associate professor at the University of Athens and eminent Byzantinist Titos Papamastorakis recently passed away, on the 11th of November 2010.

Titos Papamastorakis was an active member of the Board of the Christian Archaeological Society. The Board has decided to honour the deceased by dedicating the 34th volume of the Deltion of the Christian Archaeological Society (2013) to his memory.

Greek and foreign archaeologists and historians of Byzantine Art, as well as historians, are invited to send their contributions, related to Christian archaeology or history of art and architecture of early Christian, Byzantine and Post-Byzantine period. According to the practice followed in the former dedicatory volumes, submitted papers should not exceed 5.000 words in length and should include no more than 8 photographs and drawings. Further, a brief abstract of five to seven (5-7) lines should be attached, as well as four (4) keywords, specifying the historical period and geographical area presented in the paper, in addition to its general and specific subject.

Submitted papers that conform to the above specifications will be sent to two (2) referees for approval. Paper authors and referees remain anonymous to each other throughout the process. In case of contradicting opinions, the paper will be reviewed by a third referee. Papers accepted for publication should then be adjusted by the authors to the “Editorial guidelines for contributions to the ΔΧΑΕ.

From now on, and due to the implementation of the electronic version of the Deltion, the authors of papers accepted for publication will be kindly asked to sign a contract with the Christian Archaeological Society, in which copyright matters are clarified, according to the established international practice.

Contributions should be addressed to the secretariat of the Christian Archaeological Society, at the Byzantine and Christian Museum (22, Vas. Sophias Ave., 106 75 Athens). Submission deadline is the 9th of March 2012.
